Residential/Home Heating Oil Tank Replacement In MD Or Lower PA
Aboveground heating oil tanks age differently depending on type and location. And while your heating oil tank's outward appearance is a good sign of its inner health, heating oil tank decay often starts on the inside and works its way out. This can make it difficult to begin planning for residential/home heating oil tank replacement. In MD or lower PA, internal moisture poses the greatest threat to the health of your heating oil tank, because moisture causes untreated heating oil to break down and form a corrosive layer of sediment at the bottom of your heating oil tank.
The damaging effects of moisture inside your heating oil tank can be greatly minimized with consistent use of T2000, a fuel stabilizer that is present in both our Lower-Sulfur Heating Oil and our Bioheat. Among its many benefits, T2000 prevents sediment from forming and causing damage to both your heating oil tank and your heating equipment. (Even a new heating oil tank in MD or lower PA is not immune from the damaging effects of internal moisture and should be protected with fortified heating oil, such as T2000, as soon as it is installed.)
In addition, you should keep your heating oil tank protected from dents and scratches by storing bicycles and other objects away from your heating oil tank. Apply a sturdy coat of touch-up enamel to any exposed metal. With proper care, you may be able to delay the need for heating oil tank replacement for several years.
How do you know when an aboveground heating oil tank needs to be replaced with a new heating oil tank? In MD or lower PA, where internal moisture is impossible to avoid, leaks will often present themselves as a stain on the belly of your tank, even if no oil is dripping. A tank that is covered with rust is also at risk of failure, and should be replaced.
If you unsure whether heating oil tank replacement is necessary, we can send one of our technicians to evaluate your tank and give you an honest to evaluation of its condition.

Tevis Tank Protection Plan
Tevis Automatic Delivery customers can enroll their 275-gallon aboveground heating oil tank in our Tank Protection Plan.
Upon enrollment and inspection of the tank, there is a 90-day waiting period before heating oil tank replacement coverage goes into effect. If there is any sign of tank leakage prior to or during that 90-day period, the tank cannot be covered under this plan, and the enrollment fee would be refunded.
Once covered by the Tank Protection Plan, if the heating oil tank needs to be replaced during the first two years, the tank owner pays a portion of the heating oil tank replacement cost. After the second year of coverage, the Plan covers the total cost of a new heating oil tank in MD or lower PA.
If you would prefer to replace your 275-gallon steel heating oil tank with a ZCL or Roth tank, the replacement cost of a standard steel tank will be applied toward the ZCL or Roth tank.
