Check
your thermostat. |

Is
it set below room temperature? |

Be
sure the thermostat is set on the COOL mode. |

Make
sure the air handler switch is in
the ON position. |

The
switch is usually on the side of the air-handling unit. |

If
you cannot locate the switch, ask your Modern
Comfort Systems technician to point out the switch
to you on their next system
tune-up visit.) |

If
you have oil heat, make sure your oil burner switch
is in the ON position. |

The
air conditioner usually will not operate when
the oil burner switch is in the off position. |

The
switch is usually at the top of the basement step,
at a basement door or at the utility room door.
If you cannot locate the switch, ask your Modern
Comfort Systems technician to point out the switch
to you on their next system

Check
all fuses and circuit breakers. |

This
will be in your main electric panel box. |
| |
Circuit
breakers may look like they are on. Check carefully
to be sure they are not slightly tripped to the
off position. |

Check
the blower door. |
| |
On
newer furnaces a blower door may be removed or
ajar. This may cause a switch on the door to shut
down the furnace. |
| |
Close
the door securely to restore power. |
