Check
your thermostat. |
| |
Is
it set above room temperature? |
| |
Be
sure the thermostat is set on the HEAT mode. |
 |
Make
sure your furnace or air handler switch is in
the ON position. |
| |
The
switch is usually on the side of the furnace or
air-handling unit. |
| |
If
you cannot locate the switch, ask your Modern
Comfort Systems technician to point out the switch
to you on their next system
tune-up visit.) |
 |
If
you have oil back-up heat, make sure your oil
burner switch is in the ON position. |
| |
The
heat pump usually will not operate when the oil
burner switch is in the off position. |
| |
The
switch is usually at the top of the basement step,
at a basement door or at the utility room door. |
 |
Check
all fuses and circuit breakers. |
| |
This
will be in your main electric panel box. |
| |
Circuit
breakers may look like they are on. Check carefully
to be sure they are not slightly tripped to the
off position. |
 |
Check
the blower door. |
| |
On
newer furnaces a blower door may be removed or
ajar. This may cause a switch on the door to shut
down the furnace. |
| |
Close
the door securely to restore power. |
