Am I Out of Propane?

We do everything we can to ensure that you receive timely propane deliveries. When storms are predicted, we will often make deliveries ahead of schedule to ensure our customers have plenty of fuel.

You can help us by keeping your driveway clear in the winter and ensuring that access to your tank is unobstructed.

Below is a list of common problems and the steps to take to get them resolved.

Problem Action to Take
You can smell propane or You suspect a leak. A propane odor can indicate a problem other than an out-of-propane condition. Check your gauge. If you suspect a leak follow the Propane Safety Instructions. Because the odor is sometimes stronger as propane is depleted from the tank, a propane odor can also be an indication that you are very low or out of propane. Check your gauge and call us if you need propane. If you believe you are not out of propane, follow the Propane Safety Instructions.
A pilot will not light or remain lit.

Follow all safety instructions for that appliance.

You heat your entire home with propane, and you have no heat.

If your gauge reads below 10%, you are probably out of propane.

Call us for delivery. If it is cold out, you will be given high priority, and we will make an emergency delivery.

In addition, we will do a mandatory Gas Check to ensure that your system contains no leaks and is safe to operate. If we find your system to be in good operating condition, we will help you determine why your propane consumption exceeded expectations so that future occurrences can be avoided.

If your gauge reads above 10%:
Follow all safety instructions for your furnace or boiler. If it still will not operate, call us.

We will try to isolate the problem over the phone and schedule a visit as needed.

Your non-critical propane appliances do not work. (i.e., clothes dryer, gas fireplace, etc.)

If your gauge reads below 10%, you are probably out of propane. Call us for delivery. We will schedule a delivery as soon as possible during normal business hours.

In addition, we will do a mandatory Gas Check to ensure that your system contains no leaks and is safe to operate. If we find your system to be in good operating condition, we will help you determine why your propane consumption exceeded expectations so that future occurrences can be avoided.

One of several propane appliances fails to operate.

If you have several propane appliances, but only one is not working, the problem is probably with the appliance itself.

Follow all safety instructions for that appliance.

You have not had a delivery in a while.

If your propane appliances operate, then you have propane.

Check the fuel gauge, and call us if you think that you need a propane delivery.

You have been using your gas appliances more than normal and you are concerned you may run out of propane soon.

Check the fuel gauge, and call us if you think that you need a propane delivery.

If you think your usage will continue at this current, higher rate, let us know and we will update your account to make more frequent deliveries. It will take 2-3 deliveries to establish a reliable consumption pattern.
