Payment & Cost Control Options

Tevis' Custom Monthly Payment Plan, "TLC" Price Protection, and your own conservation efforts can help ease the impact of high fuel prices!

Custom Monthly Payment Plan:

 

If we could offer only one tool to help you manage the increased cost of heating your home, it would be our Custom Monthly Payment Plan! 

This popular program allows you to spread your winter fuel costs over eleven equal monthly payments, rather than paying for each of your fuel deliveries individually.  (At an average volume of 180 gallons per delivery, paying by the delivery can be difficult to manage.)

Your monthly payment is calculated based on your estimated usage and the expected average fuel price for the upcoming heating season.  (This price is not capped nor fixed.  Please see Price Protection below for information about these options.)

The Plan begins in July and runs through May, with June as a “catch-up” month. If there is a balance due on your account because more fuel is consumed than what had been estimated, or the average price per gallon is higher than expected, we will send you an invoice in May, which is due in June.

Conversely, if your fuel consumption or average per-gallon price is lower than expected, we will either credit that positive balance to the following year’s fuel costs, or we will send you a refund check.

You also receive a 2% annual interest rebate on any credit balance, which is applied to your account monthly.

For lowest monthly payments, put your account on the Custom Monthly Payment Plan early!

In addition to our standard methods of payment, EFT is available.

Other Payment Plans:
 

In addition to our Custom Monthly Payment Plan, we offer the following payment options.

Pre-Pay – by prepaying your entire fuel bill in advance you receive TLC Price Protection at no charge. Prior to the heating season, we will estimate your fuel needs and send you an invoice. If you require additional fuel delivery beyond what has been pre-paid, your account will default to Pay-As-You-Go, and the Prompt-Pay option will be available to you.

Prompt-Pay – By paying for your last fuel delivery in its entirety within 5 business days of delivery, you will receive a discount of 2 cents per gallon.  (Currently, this plan applies to oil customers only.  Propane and Kerosene are excluded.)

Pay-As-You-Go -- If you choose to pay after 5 business days, full payment for the delivery is due within 30 days.

(Proof of credit-worthiness is required for Prompt-Pay and Pay-As-You-Go.)

C.O.D. – If we are unable to establish credit-worthiness, we will be happy to deliver your fuel with full payment due at the time of delivery.

   
“TLC” Price Protection:
 

TLC is an optional program that protects you from dramatic increases in oil prices with either a capped or a fixed price for the oil delivered to you between July 1 and June 30.  To be eligible, customers must set their account up for both Automatic Delivery and the Custom Monthly Payment Plan or Pre-Pay. 

  • Capped pricing -- protects you by preventing your per-gallon fuel price from increasing above a maximum capped price.  It also gives you the benefit of lower oil prices, should the market price fall below your capped price at the time of your delivery.
  • Fixed pricing -- protects you by "freezing" your per-gallon fuel price for all of your deliveries made between July 1 through June 30.  Your per-gallon price will stay the same all season regardless of increases or decreases in market price. 

Please note: there is no guarantee that you will save money with either of these pricing options.  Both are intended to prevent your heating costs from spiraling out of control during volatile market conditions.

The program is offered to oil customers in the summer and is available as long as supplies last.  Please call for current program details.

   

Payment Methods:

 

Regardless of which payment option you choose, payment methods include:

on-line bill-pay, check, MasterCard, VISA, Discover, and electronic funds transfer (EFT).

   
Other Ways to Save:
  Customer Referral Bonus – if you refer a new oil customer and they become an automatic delivery customer, you both will receive a $50 credit on your account.  (To qualify for this bonus, the referred customer's fuel tank must be 250 gallons or greater.)

Tevis Loyalty Credits – oil customers can save up to 6% on purchases of new oilheat equipment as follows:

1-4 years as a customer – 2%
5-9 years as a customer – 4%
10+ years as a customer – 6%
