| Because
of the trust our automatic delivery customers place
in us, one of the worst things we can imagine is any
of them running out of fuel!
We schedule automatic deliveries based on the following criteria:
 |
- Outdoor temperature, using the industry standard “degree-day” system.
- Your actual household consumption history. (Three deliveries is usually enough to establish a consumption pattern.)
Although we are not immune to mistakes, if a customer does run out of fuel, we frequently learn that something has occured to cause their household consumption to increase. Some of the common reasons are: |
- a new baby
- older persons visiting or living in the home
- frequent overnight company
- an illness
- a newly-finished basement or addition to a home
- decreased use of wood stoves, space heaters, and fireplaces
- a furnace that needs a tune-up, and so on...
Conversely, increased conservation efforts, which we strongly encourage, will likely cause your fuel consumption to decrease, and can cause us to schedule a fuel delivery before you really need one.
Therefore, if you suspect you are using MORE or LESS fuel than in the past, please call us so we can recalculate
your anticipated usage and schedule your deliveries accordingly.
Impassable private roads and driveways are another
reason customers run out of fuel during snowy weather. Please help us by clearing an 11' wide path for our our delivery truck to
reach your tank.
You
are important to us and we will do everything
we can to ensure your comfort year-round!
