Why reduce sulfur?

Sulfur is present in most petroleum-based fuels, including heating oil.  During combustion, iron sulfate deposits (called "scale") can build up inside your heating system.

In addition to causing expensive increases in fuel consumption, accumulated scale can cause system failure, and shorten equipment life.
