Sykesville, MD – With energy prices continuing to rise, Carroll County homeowners are bracing for what may be another year of high heating costs. But Sykesville homeowner, Charles George, expects to pay a lot less for heating oil this winter. He recently replaced the boiler in his 30-year old Sykesville home with a new super-high-efficiency Buderus boiler. As a result, he is likely to use 30% less heating oil than in past winters.
But that’s not all he’ll be saving! When Mr. George first called Modern Comfort Systems to inquire about replacing his aging boiler, he learned that he could win $2,000 toward the purchase of a German-made boiler called a Buderus. “When I learned about the Buderus System, the boiler sold itself. When I found out that I could win $2,000 toward my purchase, that was an extra incentive, but I
didn’t expect to win it.”
Glenn Leppo, Retrofit Manager at Modern Comfort Systems, explains that even though Buderus boilers cost more than other boilers on the market, most homeowners will see a return on their investment within 5 or 6 years. “Probably sooner if energy prices keep increasing!” he added.
Most homeowners will reduce their fuel consumption by 15-25% with the installation of other types of higher-efficiency heating systems. Owners of oil heated homes can maintain this higher efficiency with the consistent use of fortified, clean burning, lower-sulfur heating oil. “People are starting to take a hard look at their heating systems and the products they put in them,” says Leppo.
Although Mr. George’s system was sold and installed by Modern Comfort Systems, R.E. Michaels, Inc. of Westminster and Buderus Hydronic Systems, Inc. provided the contest money.
Congratulations, Mr. George!! |
